Frisco, founded in 1873 (and officially chartered in 1879); is a centrally located mountain town in Summit County, Colorado. The town's population was 2,913 at the 2020 census. It is a popular town among skiers from around the world, with four major ski resorts located in close proximity to Frisco: Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin.

Frisco's elevation is 9,026 feet / 2,751 meters and is located along the coast of Lake Dillon, a reservoir constructed between 1961 and 1963. Besides world-class skiing nearby, the town also serves as a year-round basecamp for hiking, biking, boating, and skiing.

The average annual snowfall in Frisco is around 159 inches / 404 centimeters. Typically, March is the month that the town sees the most snowfall, averaging around 24 inches / 60 centimeters. The months between November - April sees winter weather, which have very cold days with average highs around 30°F / -1°C,  and with lows often near or below zero (°F, or -18°C). Summers, from June to August, are comfortable and pleasant with daytime temperatures ranging from to 70 to 80°F / 20 to 27°C, dropping down to 40 to 50°F / 4 to 10°C at night. In the spring, late season snowstorms are common, with temperatures beginning to rise by mid May. Fall is crisp, cold, and often dry, with snow possible as early as September.
